Councilmember David A. Catania, Chair of the Committee on Health, announces a Public Hearing on B19-657, the Collaborative Care Expansion Act of 2012. The hearing will be on February 2, 2012 at 3:00pm in Room 500 of the John Wilson Building, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW.
The purpose of this hearing is to consider legislation that amends the Health Occupations Revision Act of 1985 to permit pharmacists licensed in the District of Columbia to enter into collaborative practice agreements with physicians in order to expand access to collaborative health care in communities throughout the District.
Testimony may be limited to 3 minutes per witness and 5 minutes for a panel of witnesses. Those wishing to provide testimony should register online or contact Ms. Molly Moulton of the Committee on Health via email at mmoulton@dccouncil.us or phone at (202) 724-8170 and shall provide their names, contact information, and organization affiliation, if any, by 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. Witnesses shall bring 15 copies of their statements to the hearing.
Member of the public may submit written testimony which will be made part of the official record. Copies of written statements should be submitted to the Committee on Health, 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20004, no later than 5:30 p.m. on February 9, 2012.
Notice is revised to make technical corrections and is abbreviated to allow for timely consideration of this legislation so that the Council can expeditiously review the critical issue of expanded access to care for residents throughout the District of Columbia.
